How Yoga can help your health and wellbeing

How do you maintain a balance with the fast paced world? Do you often feel tired of life? Want to strengthen your body so it can withstand the pressures of everyday life? Tired of the daily exercises that are boring and they really want to avoid every morning?
Daily exercise is a necessary ingredient in the recipe for optimal health. These are just some of the major health benefits of daily exercise:

Exercise is the number one stress reliever. When we are stressed, our bodies produce adrenaline as part of the response of fight or flight. All this stress on the body bounces around for days on end. Chronic stress can seriously compromise the long-term health. Exercise is the natural outlet for stress, so the exercise is so important. The tension must have an escape route.
Exercise reduces the risk of developing cardiovascular disease. Regular exercise reduces the risk of developing diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is becoming a global epidemic. In the United States, 18 million people suffer from diabetes, and is on the rise of India and China. Diabetes can also lead to heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure and kidney disease. It can also cause nerve damage that can lead to gangrene and exercises every day amputation.

Yoga daily exercises help you get fit for the busy routine life both physically and mentally.

One of the major drawbacks of physical exercise is that you can provide your physical body only, what goes through your mind and soul? A simple answer – Try the ancient practice of yoga.
Here are some of the types of yoga that are very popular today.

Pilates-Yoga Pilates

Developed by George, this type of exercise is very popular in the United States. Although known as the yoga really is not. The only similarity is that it also provides an exercise for the mind. Which can be referred as yoga or yoga with movement of machines.

Bikram Yoga

Bikram yoga is more aerobic and physical type of yoga. It was founded by Bikram Choudhry. This type of yoga is not for everyone. It takes place in a warm room with a temperature of around 90 to 100 degrees and therefore also called as hot yoga.

Power Yoga

This is actually a modified version of Ashtanga yoga, which is in describedlater. It is a practice of “yoga postures in a continuous series of exercises. This type of yoga helps you improve your inner power and to establish a connection with your soul.

Sanskrit Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga means ‘eight’ and refers to the eight members of the Yoga Sutras. Korunta taken from Yoga, an ancient text. A student has to progress through six different series in this type of yoga.

This method helps realign the spine, detoxification of the body, strength and flexibility of construction and also in strengthening the nervous system.

There are three different levels of Ashtanga yoga. The first level helps to align the body and toxins from your body. The second level helps to cleanse and open the energy channels. The last level is for advanced and helps to measure the power and grace.

How To Overcome Pain – Dr Sarno Philosophy

I have had fantastic results curing RSI. After months of frustration with the approach of modern Western medicine, I made a full recovery within weeks as well as fixing a number of other long term injuries.

It was through the philosophy of Dr Sarno; summary below for you!!

The Divided Mind — the Epidemic of Mindbody Disorders”

Let me say at once that this is not a book that everyone is going to appreciate. Some will find it, almost literally, a lifesaver. Others will regard it as offensive, insulting, and a complete waste of time.

Somewhere along the line, Sarno became interested in patients with non trauma based pain. He noticed that many of these patients had pain which did not respond to standard medical treatments, and that their pain was in any case was not related to any demonstrable injury. He came to the conclusion that, in many instances, this pain had a psychological and emotional basis, and he found that, when such patients were educated in the true cause of their pain, a large proportion of them recovered their health.

HOW IT WORKS

De Sarno is not saying that pain is ‘all in the mind’. Far from it. It’s real pain. What Sarno argues, in essence, is that in cases where there is no trauma based injury to account for the pain, then there must be some other cause. His explanation in those cases in order to avoid dealing with powerful unconscious emotions, the unconscious diverts the conscious mind’s attention by causing physical pain in the body.  It does this by bringing a tension in the muscles by depriving them of oxygen. And Sarno’s major contribution to medicine is that he has found a way to treat such patients with a high degree of success.

RESISTANCE

Only 10 to 15 % of people with this condition are likely to accept a pyschosomatic diagnosis as in general patients themselves are quite amazingly resistant to any idea that there might be a link between their physical health problems and their past and present emotions. Patients, like most orthodox doctors and modern medicine in general, believe in the separation of mind and body.

The preference for most people is to rely on finding the right people and for many people there is, apparently, something deeply insulting and offensive about the idea that unconscious emotions are the source of their physical pain
