<p>Stress and anxiousness are created by the mind. This is caused by your fear and inability to cope with circumstances that you feel are beyond your control, fear is rampant upon the planet, and is basically all illusion created by the mind. We try to control all aspects of our lives, and stress and anxiety are the results. Learning to let go of the need to control is the beginning of self mastery. As you become aware that your mind is the battleground causing all the turmoil in your life, that you are not a victim of circumstances, that you have the tools of detachment and discrimination at your disposal, this gives you the confidence to deal with the everyday challenges of life. <p>Life is not busy or hectic, it just is! Its your mind that creates the havoc that you experience in modern day living, your mind is so busy, full of its own self importance, never present, always racing to the future which never happens, or reliving the past which is gone, your mind is never present. In the present moment you have all the time you need to deal with all the challenges that comes your way. Your breath is the tool you use to control the mind, learn to breathe deeply always; automatically you will relax the body and calm the mind. A simple technique is the 4 second breath, breathe deeply into the abdomen, hold the breath for 4 seconds, breathe out to the count of 4, this will allow you to become present, when you become present, the present becomes a present.</p>

<p>Meditation is awareness, it is experiencing the natural state of the mind without thoughts, anything you cant stop from doing is called an addiction, we are all addicted to thinking, Meditation is transcending the normal chatter of the mind, to experience the mind as it is, stillness of the mind occurs when thoughts slow, and you experience your own innate sense of well-being, it is a sweetness that has to be experienced not described.</p>
<p>Meditation helps one on many levels, the benefits of meditation include, reducing blood pressure, stress hardiness, increased harmony in all areas of your life, it also is a discipline that requires patience and persistence. When the mind chatter slows, your intuitions become stronger; you feel what to do instead of thinking what to do. Your life flows more easily with increased confidence and clarity.</p>

<p>Peace of mind has two definitions: for a meditation practitioner it refers to the stillness that is experienced when the normal mind chatter slows and one experiences the innate peace that is ever present beneath the surface chatter of the mind. The Christ refers to this as the “peace beyond understanding” because you do not understand it, you experience it.</p>
<p> For people who do not practice meditation it refers to the contentment that follows the ego gratification of the senses or actions completed, this feeling of contentment is temporary as the minds normal agitation quickly resumes its dominance.</p>

<p>If you across any of the stuff I have been producing recently then you will know that it has been a pretty intense period for me over the last month or see.</p>
<p>I am fine with that as it is linked to my passion, therefore I have no issue with working hard.   What I have to be careful of though is making sure I keep my balance by also adding in quality time with friends, familly and me!</p>
<p>The first part of that is actually making the time, the second part is actually being present in the time you allocate.</p>
<p>I am doing okay and seem to be able to compartmentalise enough that I keep in a good place.</p>
<p>Having said that I can&#8217;t deny that I am looking foward to a break over Christmas&#8230;</p>
